Information about the Slavic names

The Slavic people are believed to have originated in a culture that lived in the area north of the Balkan Peninsula. Beginning in the 6th century, these tribes began migrating in all directions, eventually settling in the areas that would become the Slavic countries. Many of the groups they encountered absorbed various aspects of Slavic cultures and languages. Slavic names are used across Eastern Europe and in Slavic communities in countries like the Baltic states, Kazakhstan, and Canada.
