Information about the Aramaic names

Aramaic belongs to the Semitic subfamily of the Afro-Asiatic language family and has a 3,000-year history. Formerly one of the most important and widespread languages of the Middle East, Modern Aramaic is spoken today as a first language by various groups, most significantly by the Assyrians, one of the indigenous peoples of Mesopotamia. Although most Aramaic speakers migrated to the West during the 20th century, significant populations still remain in Iraq and Syria, as well as smaller communities in Iran, Israel, Lebanon, and Turkey. The New Testament includes some Aramaic names, and Aramaic is also closely related with the Chaldo-Assyrian Christian Churches.
