Thank you for visiting this Web site and your interest in learning the etymology of first names. My name is Igor Katsev.
The etymology of names has been my hobby for many years, so I have decided to create and publish this Web site.
I published it on September 10th, 2007.
My goal is to create the largest dictionary of first names in the world (and not only the largest one - my first priority will always be the quality of information).
The database will include the first names from all over the world, and each entry will tell you the origin, usage, pronunciation, and meaning of the name, as well as its historical and religious significance.
I hope that people belonging to different cultures and religions will be able to find the comprehensive information about their first names on this Web site.
